2014 Elsewhere
For each year I failed to blog much, I've tried to assemble a representative sample of my social media output that year. This is 2014.
Erin and I went to the annual ceremony at the Golden Hydrant at the southwest corner of Dolores Park.

We also went to Colorado for a wedding:
We subscribed to a CSA:
I went to South Korea for a CSS WG meeting:
Gangnam, I am in you.
Wow. Le Chamber. Simply amazing. Thanks for the reference, @sherrybuttparis @sgalineau!
In Korea Dunkin’ Donuts employees wear an awesome DD-branded flat cap and I WANT IT. Betting this will be my most Bostonian tweet this year.
Go Bears! (@ 잠실야구장 (Jamsil Baseball Stadium)) http://4sq.com/1kacfFB
Rusty continued to be the best doggy ever:
This is the best thing ever posted to the Internet: @kirinqueen's video http://i.instagram.com/p/o7oKR5LZHq/
Rusty the dog businessman is the best dog businessman. #therustyshow http://instagram.com/p/tOfh6dhRbm/
Erin and I went to Vancouver on vacation:
Seaplanes are awesome. That is all.
While there, I wrote the longobjection:
On vacation, so I’m sitting in a coffee shop writing a formal objection. Wait, what?
Longdesc is not only a poor technical solution to the problem it purports to solve, it is also a redundant one. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Aug/0028.html
Later in the year I went to France, so I was able to go to The Cascade in Vancouver and La Cascade in Antibes in the same year:
In Paris so, obviously, I’m at @sherrybuttparis. Like you do.
I would seriously consider buying a cheesy Paris tourist T-shirt that said “I survived buying yarn at La Droguerie” if such a shirt existed.
We went as Marty and the Doc for Halloween:
For some reason @kirinqueen doesn’t want me to be Sexy Ice Bucket Challenge for Halloween this year.
Our Star Trek fan club continued to be a hell of a lot of fun:
Patrick and Lisa got married
Some photos from a visit to Boston:
Some random thoughts about the web:
Every time someone says "drive-by web," an angel loses her wings.
I guess I should really get around to writing the "Pragmatic, Use Case-Based, Slow Web Manifesto" after all.
