There's so much that's grotesque about this, that we've built cities around cars so thoroughly, that it dominates our thinking so totally that we just ambiently tolerate around 25 child deaths per day and that the only time of the year kids all go out together at night that number triples.
It's not so much that I want walkable cities, as I want people-not-getting-run-over cities. I want kids-not-getting-killed cities.
