Made a stop on the way down to the office today to grab a quick one on one with The Pacific.
Sometimes it’s helpful to break down a particularly challenging problem by staring at the ocean until the waves become your only constant and the ocean reminds you how small everything else could be. At that point the solution becomes a mechanical process of breaking it apart into smaller problems until they disappear between the waves.
I don’t know what it’s like to try and do science or engineering without an ocean nearby, but I’m glad not to need to know.
