I keep various web fonts that I use on some web pages.
Omnibus-Type
I’ve set most of my site in variable fonts from Omnibus-Type:
- Archivo for body text,
- Chivo Mono for code snippets,
- and Manuale for a serif.
Here are samples of each:
This is a run of Archivo. I’ve sprinkled in some bold, italic, and bold italic text. This is a run of Chivo Mono. I’ve sprinkled in some bold, italic, and bold italic text. This is a run of Manuale. I’ve sprinkled in some bold, italic, and bold italic text.
The League
The League of Moveable Type make some great, Open Source typefaces. Here are a couple I use on this site:
League Gothic
Great for when you need a high-impact headline that doesn't take up too much space.
Linden Hill
Adds a great dash of style to long-form text. I particularly love its understated italic. I do wish it had a more exaggerated x-height, though; I tend to find fonts with a larger x-height to be friendlier to read on screens.
