San Diego

In Eryn and I visited San Diego with a bunch of her friends from high school—the same group we last year. It’s been really nice to get to know Eryn’s friends. They’re a great bunch of people.

I lived in San Diego for a decade—from 2001 to 2011—and had a lovely time seeing dear old friends and wandering around my old stomping grounds.

I got 99 problems but a beach ain’t one

We visited three beaches while in town—Ocean Beach, La Jolla Shores, and Pacific Beach.

La Jolla Shores is still my favorite beach in San Diego. It’s where I first lived when I moved there, many years ago. Actually, I lived there twice—I bounced between La Jolla and PB in my early- to mid-20s before moving uptown for the rest of my stay in SD. I never lived in OB, though. Never quite fit the demographic.

Day trip to LA

A four word horror story

If you want to terrify a San Diegan, you could do worse than these four words. But we timed it right, didn’t spend all day in traffic, and had a lovely visit. We went to the La Brea Tar Pits, to the Original Farmers Market, and to Soowon Galbi for Korean BBQ.
