2025
Years in review: 2024–2025–2026
- Trump returned to the Oval Office, and immediately began to issue executive order after executive order making it extremely difficult for trans people to exist in public life.
- Due to this, I struggled to renew my passport in January and February. When they finally issued me a new one, they changed the gender marker on it. This makes it less safe for me to travel, and yet I need to travel frequently for work.
- I went to Paris and Geneva in March, for the W3C’s TAG and Ecma’s ExeCom, respectively.
- Eryn, EJ, and I went to Japan in March and April. It was EJ’s first time visiting the country.
- The AC met in France in April.
- I went back to Geneva in June, this time for a meeting of Ecma’s GA.
- I surprised my mom with a quick visit that coincided with a celebration of her volunteer work.
- I ran for and won a seat on the W3C AB, which met in Berlin in July. While in town I went to Pride.
- I spent my birthday isolating with Covid. Ugh.
- I went back to Geneva a third time in October for the second ExeCom meeting of the year.
- TPAC this year was in Kobe in November.
- Rusty died on our last day in Japan; we didn’t get to see him one last time.
- We finally saw King Princess live in concert.
- Eryn and I spent Thanksgiving with her family in Arizona then, in early December, Eryn and I took EJ to Massachusetts for Auntie Anne’s birthday party.
- A couple of days later, I was elected President of Ecma.
- Anna and Quân got married in mid-December; we stayed on for Christmas.
