Some were stabbed, hanged, shot, or strangled. Others were beaten to death, drowned, poisoned, or decapitated. Some were intentionally run over. Some burned alive, others had their throats cut. Several died in police custody. Many were kidnapped, raped or tortured before being murdered. Some were mutilated or dismembered after death. Some overdosed, and many took their own lives—pushed to suicide by a world that wants us dead.

So today we’ll light our candles, we’ll read their names, and we’ll mourn. Tomorrow we’ll dust ourselves off & continue to fight for a better world, one where we can enjoy an average life expectancy. 🕯
