Boost (Mastodon): An inside look at how the Internet Archive saves the web The non-profit organisation based in San Francisco gathers billions of web pages in a huge digital archiving project to preserve our internet history from being erased. It also stores and catalogue millions of books, records and videos from around the world. Boost (Mastodon): Picked up Anne Carson's "If not, Winter", her translation of Sappho fragments with layout of the original fragments vs. translation to clearly show where all the holes are in the original manuscripts. I find it interesting I exclusively read ebooks, but I often have physical poetry books around my desks, because it works for me to pick those up and read them, possibly because I tend to do it in shorter bursts. (also got it because it got referred to in fic which is cursed) #Books #Poetry — A Part of Bee (@morix@loci.onl)

Boost (Mastodon): Let's celebrate #indiebookstoreday ! Two of my favorite local indies here in San Francisco are Noe Valley Books and Green Apple Books. You can get signed copies of my books from both places, right here: https://noevalleybooks.com/annalee-newitz https://greenapplebooks.com/list… #books #bookstodon — Annalee Newitz 🍜 (@annaleen@wandering.shop)
Meanwhile @erynofwales is reading _Queer City_, all about the history of queer London, which she bought at @gaystheword last week, so we also keep falling back onto archaic London gay slang. “Is she a lesbian?” “Do yo mean, is she TBH?” (To be had, my fave)
