New school year

Thursday was the first day of classes, and (not too surprisingly) Friday was the second. Freshman Comp is probably going to be somewhat boring. Probability and Statistics looks like it might be cool, especially with Grimaldi teaching it. Japanese I will involve a lot of memorization. So far, my handwriting in hiragana is better than my handwritting with roman characters. :)

Lisa Carr came to Terre Haute this weekend, to visit everyone (read: Matt Burke). That rules. We all went over to Dan’s appartement for his season premiere showing. We watched DVD’s of Half a Loaf of Kung Fu and then The Big Lebowski.

W. Richard Stevens, author of Advanced Programming in the Unix Environment and many other definitive works in networking and TCP/IP. This was pretty shocking. He’ll be missed.
