Happy Memorial Day

Boston takes two out of three in the Bronx; what more can I ask for?

Erin, our friend Mathew, and I (same crew from the other day) had an all-American Memorial Day: baseball, beer, and barbecue. There is something to be said for seeing my boys clobber the Yankees while eating hot dogs and drinking Sierra Nevada’s Summerfest and Stone’s IPA. (Speaking of Stone, I tried the latest Vertical Epic on Friday; it is most excellent.)

I have to say, I went into this game expecting Wells to have a terrible day, and I’m very happy to have been proven wrong. I’m even tempted to say that Terry should have let him try for the complete game. And how very nice it is to see Renteria, Ortiz, and Manny hitting just about everything thrown at them. After the previous day’s 17-1 victory, this was a very nice way to close out the series.
