requiescat in pace, rakim
My colocated server died.
An ancient PIII-500
running FreeBSD, rakim.cfhp.org
has loyally hosted
websites for family and friends since August 2003 (when it replaced the
then-ancient george.cfhp.org
, a Slackware-running PII-400
that had served from 1998).
I’m pretty sure there hasn’t been any data loss; I’m having the colo people mail me the disk.
In the interim, I’ve recovered some sites that I had local checkouts of, such as Planet Emacsen, The Federalist Papers, and the family websites.
