@bradeeoh The closest thing I can think of was Take Me Out to the Holosuite (DS9 S7E4), but even that had this artificial conflict between Sisko and the Vulcan captain, and maybe there was a B story too? I don't remember. Either way, it's not quite what I have in mind (though it's close).
