I’ve imported my content from cohost

cohost has gone read-only, as foretold by the prophecy, and its users have started to receive data exports via email. After dowloading mine, it was time add support for cohost’s export format to my social media post importer. There’s no documentation of cohost’s export format, but it’s laid out in a straightforward manner and I found it pretty fun to go spelunking in.

Here are some bits I ran across while processing my export:

I tend to develop a bit of a different voice on different websites. It’s not an act; I’m not trying to come off as someone very different on each one. But they tend to attract different communities and I post for the audience that’s there. Sometimes this means importing content to this site that doesn’t quite work with the tone I’ve established here. I’m okay with that.

My posts on cohost tended to be short, silly, and weird. Which, I suppose, cohost itself was: short-lived and full of silly, weird posts. It was grand.
