For those of us who are increasingly in positions where we cannot count on the rule of law to protect our digital privacy or security, here are some thoughts on how to threat model for your community:
Everyone's security plans and situations will always be different, which is why we often say that security and privacy are a state of mind, not a purchase. But the first step is always taking a look at your community and figuring out what's needed and how to get everyone else on board. Building a Community Privacy Plan

Made a stop on the way down to the office today to grab a quick one on one with The Pacific. Sometimes it’s helpful to break down a particularly challenging problem by staring at the ocean until the waves become your only constant and the ocean reminds you how small everything else could be. At that point the solution becomes a mechanical process of breaking it apart into smaller problems until they disappear between the waves. I don’t know what it’s like to try and do science or engineering without an ocean nearby, but I’m glad not to need to know.
