Trans March

The Trans March kicks off Pride Weekend in San Francisco every year. I just barely managed to get back in time for today’s—I was literally in Geneva yesterday. I’m pretty sure this is the most jet-lagged I’ve ever been for Pride.

Blue, pink, and white lights reflect off of a body of water at night, inadvertently recreating the transgender pride flag.

EJ is in SoCal on vacation with Erin so, for the first time since she was born, she didn’t march with me.

Eryn and I met up with Jen in Dolores Park in the late afternoon. The march starts there, in the corner of the Mission District closest to The Castro, then heads up Market Street to the Tenderloin, where it comes to an end in the Transgender District.

There’s been a veritable onslaught of anti-trans actions taken by various governments over the past year, so it felt especially good to spend time in community today.

We ran into a bunch of people, both before the march in Dolo and while marching, including and Samantha. Afterwards we had Dan over for dinner. For once, he and I were both in SF at the same time! Eryn made curry rice, which went over well. 🏳️‍⚧️
