Continuing with my project to import all the things!, I exported my Tumblr posts and imported them here. Tumblr’s export format is bare-bones HTML, so writing the importer was relatively easy. The only real problem I encountered is that img elements sometimes point at the wrong image file, but working around that was straightforward.
I’ve had a Tumblr account since 2007, but I’ve never been a heavy user of the site. I had a tumblelog on my own site at the time. (In fact, it was one of the first 15 or so tumblelogs in the world.) These days, I don’t separate "tumbly" posts from longer form posts; they all coexist in the same Atom feed.
