Back to school and back to Ballhalla
Today was EJ’s first day of the fourth grade! I think dropping her off this morning was far more emotional for me than for her; as soon as she spotted one of her friends in the yard, she zoomed off to them without saying goodbye. Quite a contrast to dropping her off for her first few days of kindergarten.
Eryn and I took her to the Valkyries’ Back to School match to celebrate the start of her school year. Our girls got off to a solid start, with an especially commanding performance in the second quarter. Dallas did its best to close the gap in the second half, but to no avail. Valkyries win!
| Team | Q1 | Q2 | Q3 | Q4 | Final |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Golden State | 20 | 24 | 18 | 16 | 78 |
| Dallas | 19 | 9 | 18 | 24 | 70 |
It’s been a couple of years since we last took her to a live sports game; that hadn’t gone very well, so we were a bit worried about how she would handle the noise of Ballhalla. Our worry turned out to be unnecessary; she had an absolute blast. The three of us even made it onto the Jumbotron!
