I have experienced the same at #SFO when boarding to Zurich during my last two visits. No possibility to opt-out. Worse, when I asked for details about the system or a privacy policy, no one at the airport knew what to refer me to. At least for full body scanners, the TSA has a process in place that they apply without challenging you, when you ask to opt out. For facial recognition, nada!
